Dubai Media City backs creativity at Dubai Lynx

DUBAI, March 18, 2015

Dubai Media City (DMC), part of Tecom Investments, has backed the Dubai Lynx International Festival Creativity, to develop and nurture those in the media industry.

Dubai Lynx, in its eighth year, has grown into one of the region’s biggest creative festivals, welcoming nearly 1,800 attendees over the course of three days from 21 countries around the world, and more than 2,400 competition entries for the awards, representing nearly a 10 per cent increase from 2013, said a statement.

DMC also played an active role in supporting new initiatives held during the festival, including Arabic Day, which bought together speakers from across the region to give presentations and host discussions around what is needed to further the creation of Arabic content.

Mohammad Abdullah, managing director of Dubai Media City, said: “Dubai Lynx is a true celebration of creativity and innovation, and we are delighted to have supported the festival again this year.

“The growth of the festival is testament to the widespread development being seen across the region’s media industry, and this year’s festival saw the introduction of some extremely important initiatives, including Arabic Day. We will continue to pledge our support to festivals and platforms that encourage the growth of the sector here in Dubai, and look at ways we can promote the development of talent.”
