A new first class event-restaurant is coming to the Gulf for the first time.

‘Dinner-in-the-Sky’ is worldwide the only event-restaurant which floats your senses. It is a unique event meant for anyone who wishes to transform an ordinary meal, incentive, fair, product presentation or meeting into a magical moment that will leave a lasting impression, according to Mindset Media, the firm behind this project.

Two years ago, ‘Dinner-in-the-Sky’ was developed by a team of creative event managers and a professional group of engineers. The idea was to realise for the first time in history a dinner in the sky. This was at once the birth of the concept and the name.

Being held by 16 steelcables the six-ton heavy table is pulled up by a mobile crane with 80 tons lifting capacity. The purpose-built table, constructed in accordance with German TÜV [German association for technical inspection] and European DIN norms, can be lifted up to 50 meters in the air.

The rectangular table can accommodate 22 guests per flight. In the central corridor is also space for up to six staff members like the technical event manager, cooks, waiters or entertainer. The guests are secured by shell-type seats and they are buckled up with 4-point seatbelts.

The customers needs and wishes have top priority: Whether Asian or Mediterranean cuisine, whether live-/showcooking at the table or 'do it yourself' event cooking, everything is possible, the company said.

On a stage that is lifted up by another crane to the same height, the guests can be entertained by a band, a DJ or other special acts. There is also the possibility to present a new product like a car on the second plattform.

Customers may rent dinner in the sky for one day or even for a few weeks. It will be divided or personalised according to the clients wishes.

'To deliver something to posterity, professional camera teams are allowed to document the spectacle. If you want to make the event even more perfect you have the possibility to arrive in a fancy car like an Hummer stretched limousine or a helicopter,' the company said.

The German event agency Mindset Media based in Hürth/Cologne with a branch in the Middle East is responsible for marketing, sales and full service organisation of dinner in the sky events. The regional branch is located in Bahrain.
