Crown Prince holds key US talks

Bahrain-US relations received a fresh boost on Monday when President George W Bush received Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, currently visiting the US.

The Crown Prince conveyed to Bush the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad. They reviewed the close bilateral relations and explored ways to forge closer political, military, economic and trade ties, said a report in our sister Publication, the Gulf Daily News.

They discussed developments in the Middle East and a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The meeting was attended by Economic Development Board (EDB) Chief executive Officer Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the US Huda Nonoo and Crown Prince's Court head Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa.

The Crown Prince also met National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley at the White House on Monday.

They reviewed the co-operation between the two countries and discussed regional and international developments, particularly those in the Gulf region, the Middle East peace process and ways of reinforcing stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mohammed Ms Nonoo and Shaikh Khalifa. - TradeArabia News Service
