Woodwork leaders to debut at show

Dubai, February 26, 2009

Organisers of the Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show 2009 have revealed that several innovators in woodworking technologies will make their debut at the event.

The fourth annual expo, which will run at the Dubai Airport Expo from April 21 to 23, will capitalise on the stability of demand for wood and wood machineries in the region amidst the global economic downturn.

The wood and wood machinery sector is expected to witness huge demand amidst intensifying call for greater sustainability in the Middle East, according to Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, organisers of the wood and wood machinery show.

The event, which is the Middle East’s only industry exhibition of its kind, is set to host global exhibitors under themed national pavilions, with aims to drive activity within the regional wood trade business.

Established as an effective platform for showcasing a wide spectrum of wood products and technologies, the Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show 2009 is set to attract distributors, suppliers, interior designers, furniture manufacturers, carpenters, wholesale traders and retailers, building material manufacturers, construction suppliers and project developers from across the globe.

The show has earned a distinctive repute as a high impact platform for the latest technologies in wood processing as well as new product offerings from industry-leading companies. High impact networking activities also serve as one of the highlights of this annual event, which opens up great business and partnership opportunities for all participants.

“The Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show 2009 marks the fourth staging of this high-impact event, and we are pleased that we have secured a significant number of participants due to the strong response given by the global wood and wood machinery community amidst the challenges caused by the global crisis,” said Saif Hashmath, exhibition director, Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions.

“Through the year, our focus remains on providing an opportunity to industry players to maximise the region’s growing market for high quality wood products and equipment. With most of the leading wood-exporting countries well-represented in this year’s event, we have high expectations that this show will be a success.”

Aiming to help industry players establish profitable relationships and leverage the ‘green initiatives’ being undertaken by regional property construction and development organisations, this year’s expo is set to host globally-reputed players from leading wood-exporting and importing countries.

“We are confident that the participation of leading wood exporters at the show will attract customers, who can access a wide range of top quality wood products and leading edge wood machinery and equipment. We are delighted to once again stage this show, thereby providing the industry with an ideal venue to stimulate marketing and trade activity and foster the overall growth of this sector. It is with much anticipation that we await the opening of the show,” concluded Hashmath.

Some of the wood products that will be showcased at the show include high quality finishing and fittings, plywood and hardboard products, timber, hardwood and softwood, kitchen cabinets, wooden furniture units, wooden decorative materials and units, polishing products, wood and timber flooring, veneer, spraying treatments wood raw materials and laminator among others.

In addition to the national pavilions, which will showcase world-class products from the international delegations, the Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show will also host the largest wood and wood machineries companies from the UAE and across the region who will showcase their own brand of local but high quality products. – TradeArabia News Service
