Alcotexa sells 785 T of cotton

The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Sunday it had committed to sell 785 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on August 15.

The sales comprised 50 tonnes of Giza 70; 312 tonnes of Giza 88 and 423 tonnes of Giza 86, an official from Alcotexa told Reuters.

The new commitment brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2008/2009 season, which began in September, to 24,775 tonnes of cotton worth $62.47 million, the official said. - Reuters
