OBG launches Ras Al Khaimah business guide

Ras Al Khaimah, March 30, 2010

Oxford Business Group (OBG), the leading global publishing, research and consultancy firm, has launched its new Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) business guide.

The Report: Ras Al Khaimah 2010 offers in-depth analysis of the Emirate’s economic activity and investment opportunities, with particular focus on the attractive business-friendly environment that RAK has cultivated and which is now bringing rewards.

The publication includes a detailed, sector-by-sector guide for foreign investors, together with a wide range of interviews with the most prominent political, economic and business leaders.

Widely anticipated to be the most comprehensive English language report on the country’s business activity to date, The Report: Ras Al Khaimah 2010 maps out the impressive expansion of the Emirate’s free and industrial zones, which lead the way across the region and have significantly boosted the country’s economic expansion.

OBG’s ground-breaking report analyses RAK’s booming industrial sector in detail, giving comprehensive coverage of the Emirate’s well-established cement and ceramics industry. In addition, it explores the government’s aim to continue building on its strong manufacturing and industrial sectors, while also considering how the Emirate can rise to the challenge it has set itself of finding new export markets.

This business guide looks in detail at the wealth of projects that are on the horizon for the construction industry, many of which have been prompted by the government’s plans to raise RAK’s profile as an all-round tourist destination and increase capacity to accommodate a rise in visitors. It also examines the government’s bid to give weight to environmental protection plans, while it strives to achieve a balance between developing new hotels for the blossoming tourism sector and ensuring that RAK’s cultural heritage and wildlife are preserved.

“RAK’s industrial expansion, which owes much to Rakia and RAK Free Trade Zone, has been key in cushioning the Emirate from the worst of the global financial crisis,” said Abby Lindenberg, OBG’s regional director.

“I am confident that OBG’s new report accurately reflects RAK’s economic achievements and indicates the other exciting projects still in the pipeline, such as plans to develop its tourism sector,” she added.-TradeArabia News Service
