Intercoil reports 25pc sales increase

Dubai, February 21, 2012

Dubai-based sleep products multinational, Intercoil International, has reported a 25 per cent increase in sales during 2011.

The company plans to open eight new showrooms across GCC, said a statement from Intercoil.

During 2011, it reinforced its market leadership across various sectors, and gained significant market share in the hospitality sector. These include new contracts with leading hotel chains in the region, and the company was nominated as the preferred bedding partner for Starwood Hotels, Rezidor Hotel Group and Rotana Hotels.

Commenting on the retail growth and expansion in the region, Hassan Al-Hazeem, managing director of Intercoil International, said: “2011 was a remarkable year in our regional growth strategy, and we successfully accomplished major milestones in our expansion roadmap. In 2012, we aim to further build on our market leadership by boosting both our geographical footprint as well as the manufacturing capacity.”

“This year we are looking towards opening eight new showrooms, besides augmenting our production capabilities – in terms of capacity and technology. These will help us consolidate our pole position and gain both market reach and market share. Our key focus this year is the Saudi market, where we plan to open three showrooms, besides establishing our presence across North Africa,” Al-Hazeem said.

Through 2011, the company also supplied its world-class products to several prestigious projects, including The Westin, Abu Dhabi, The Kempinski Al Rashid, Baghdad, St Regis, Saadiyat Island Abu Dhabi, The Millennium Plaza, Dubai, St Regis Qatar and The Rotana Hotels Abu Dhabi.

In addition to its annual participation in Hotec Middle East and Hotel Show Dubai, Intercoil took part in the 2011 Hotec Europe – the company’s first participation in hospitality event outside the region.

During the show, Intercoil showcased its wide array of products, and evaluated the feasibility of opportunities beyond the Middle East region. The initiative was successful as the company received positive feedback from buyers on Intercoil’s corporate structure and hospitality range.

The company was also recognised across various forums, including the CSR Label Award by Dubai Chamber. It was recently ranked number four among Dubai SME 100. – TradeArabia News Service
