Dubai, November 5, 2013

Italian exports to the UAE increased by 28 per cent in 2011 to a total of Dh22.04 billion ($6 billion) and performed better in 2012 as in the first six months the value of exports rose to Dh15.01 billion, said a top official.

“The Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy places great importance to our trade relations with the Middle East and specifically with the UAE,” said Ferdinando Fiore, Italian Trade Commissioner, commenting on the upcoming Italian Luxury Interiors event.

More than 30 Italian companies are set to gather in Dubai from November 11 – 14 to exhibit their exclusive collections at the third edition of the event.

The exhibition, returning to the UAE for the third time at Madinat Jumeirah, has been hailed by the Italian Trade Commission in the UAE as a key relationship-building platform.

“The Italian handicraft and art legacy is very important to us as the leading custodian of Italian heritage. The UAE is a perfect partner for us to boost exports of crafts and ‘Made in Italy’ products,” Fiore added.

Fiore also revealed that the third edition of Italian Luxury Interiors will see the launch of a brand new ‘Luxury Vision’ concept which comprises the presentation of special displays of small art objects and a showcase of unique, contemporary and decorative creations and limited edition pieces.

Italian manufacturers at the four day show will exhibit a range of exclusive furnishings including furniture, decorative and household items, lighting and textile products.

Italian Luxury Interiors 2013 is organised by the Italian Trade Commission, Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy, the leading government agency responsible for building and enhancing trade relations and business between Italy and UAE in co-operation with ARTEX and CNA, the national confederation of crafts and small & medium enterprises. – TradeArabia News Service
