Dammam-Al Ahsa train service starts

Dammam, March 3, 2014

The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) started train service between Al-Ahsa (also known as Hofuf) and Dammam on Sunday, a report said.

There will be two trips a day from Sunday to Thursday to serve students and employees, the Arab News report said.

Muhammad Abu Zaid, director of Public Relations and Media at SRO, said the organisation was working on increasing the number of trips between Dammam and Riyadh and cutting the trip duration to three hours.

In addition, a new ticketing system will be introduced tol provide cards for frequent travellers such as students and employees, Abu Zaid said.
