Bombers blow themselves up in Bahrain

Manama, April 20, 2014

Two men were killed and another was injured when a homemade bomb they were transporting by car exploded in the Muqsha district of Bahrain yesterday (April 19), a report said.

It happened in the centre of a residential area at about 3pm, according to the report published in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The injured man was taken to a private hospital before being transferred to Salmaniya Medical Complex, police said.

He sustained second degree burns in addition to other injuries.

Initial investigations indicated the blast had been caused by the detonation of a homemade bomb inside the car.

The investigation continues and the Public Prosecution has been notified.

Earlier, three firemen trying to put out burning tyres in Budaiya were injured as they came under attack from rioters.

A homemade bomb was detonated as they attempted to bring the blaze under control on the Janabiya Highway, near the entrance to Quraya village at around 10am. -  TradeArabia News Service
