UN approves study on Bahrain farming plan

Manama, May 10, 2014

The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has given its initial approval to conduct a feasibility study on Bahrain's farming project in Sudan.

Under-Secretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa said that the FAO study would add value to the project and help attract investors.

In a statement to Akhbar Al-Khaleej, he said that an FAO official had visited Bahrain last week to gather information about the project.

He will then submit a report to FAO director-general who will then decide whether to assist Bahrain in conducting the study.-TradeArabia News Service
