Saudi orders Jeddah lockdown amid Covid-19 concerns
RIYADH, March 30, 2020
Saudi Arabia has shut down entry into and exit from Jeddah Governorate and advanced a curfew there to begin at 3pm (local time) on Sunday, due to the spread of Covid-19, the kingdom’s Interior Ministry has announced.
This suspension will stay in effect until the end of the curfew period specified in the Royal Order, reported the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The curfew in Jeddah previously began at 7pm, reported Reuters, noting that the kingdom applied the same measures to Riyadh, Makkah and Madinah last week.
