Eid holidays to start on April 8 for UAE private sector

The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that from Monday, 29th day of Ramadan (8th April) to 3rd Shawwal (or what is corresponding to it in Gregorian calendar) will be a paid holiday for all employees in the private sector across the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
 
As per the Islamic calendar, Ramadan lasts 29 or 30 days, depending on when the Moon is sighted. Eid Al Fitr is celebrated on the first of Shawwal.
 
If Ramadan lasts 30 days, the the Eid holiday will last till Friday, April 12 (Shawwal 3). If the Raqmadan lasts 29 days, the Eid break will last till Thursday, April 11.
 
Earlier, the UAE Cabinet had announced that the Eid Al Fitr holiday for the federal government sector will also start on April 8, for a period of one week. 
 
Regular working would resume on Monday, 15th April, said a Wam news agency report.
