Qatargas and Royal Dutch Shell sent the first cargo of liquified natural gas (LNG) from their new train seven plant to India, Qatargas said on Sunday.

'The cargo is en route to Hazira receiving terminal in India,' it said in a statement.

Shell owns 30 per cent of the 7.8 million tonne a year (mtpa) LNG plant in Qatar - already the world's biggest LNG exporter - with state-owned Qatar Petroleum holding 70 per cent.-Reuters
