Nafoura oilfield... to boost total output
of state operator Arabian Gulf Oil

Libyan Nafoura oilfield to start pumping at 20,000 bpd

BENGHAZI, Libya, November 27, 2014

Libya's Nafoura oilfield will start pumping oil to ports from Friday, targeting an initial output of 20,000 barrels a day, a spokesman for the field operator said on Thursday.

The field, located in the east, restarted work this week after officials managed to convince local residents to end a protest aimed at demanding more jobs.

The restart will boost the total output of state operator Arabian Gulf Oil Co (AGOCO), which has several fields, to 180,000 bpd, a company spokesman said. Output stood at 155,851 bpd as of Monday, according to the latest data available from parent firm National Oil Corp (NOC). – Reuters
