DMCA to throw spotlight on Dubai's maritime strategy
DUBAI, January 25, 2016
Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, co-ordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, will throw the spotlight on the emirate’s maritime strategy during an upcoming forum in Dubai, UAE.
The TradeWinds Shipowners Forum Middle East will take place on March 9 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel for the first time in the region under the support of DMCA.
The Dubai edition is the third and final event in the series marking TradeWinds 25th anniversary, following the success of earlier forums held in Hong Kong and Athens.
The forum will followed by an evening reception to maximise guests’ value for time - allowing them to explore potential opportunities and partnerships with fellow attendees.
Amer Ali, executive director of DMCA, said: “These are truly exciting times for the global shipping industry, which is ably reflected in the high number of activity posted across international ports.

According to TradeWinds, the Gulf region is currently at the centre of heightened interest with the recovery of the tanker market.
In line with this, Dubai's maritime sector represents great importance due to its vibrancy, sustainability and safe and secure atmosphere.
The leading shipping news portal also commended the DMCA for its continuing efforts to ensure highest levels of services and regulations and the major support of Dubai’s government towards further strengthening the maritime segment.
