Dewa awards substation contract

DUBAI, August 13, 2016

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has awarded a construction contract worth Dh74.6 million ($20.30 million) for the development of the 132/11 kilovolt (kV) substation at Warsan 2 in Dubai, UAE.

The substation will be connected to the current electricity network, said a Wam news agency report.

"As part of Dewa’s efforts to achieve its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility, and to further develop electricity transmission plans, Dewa continuously expands electricity supplies by developing and expanding its projects, services, and facilities," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa.

"Dewa’s future objectives and plans aim to increase the efficiency and accountability of its infrastructure. This promotes Dewa’s contribution to Dubai’s economic growth and prosperity," he said.
