Austria signs up to build solar plants in Iran

TEHRAN, October 18, 2017

Austrian Benefit and Solar Company recently signed a $100 million contract with Iran to build several solar powers plants in the south of the country, a report said.

According to the agreement, four solar power plants will be constructed in Abadeh in Fars Province, Iran Daily reported, citing Fars News Agency.

"The total capacity of the power plants will be 70 MW and will be built in Abadeh and Izad-Khast; both located in northern Fars Province," Babak Daei, director general of Economic Affairs and Finance Department of Fars Province was quoted as saying in the report.

The agreement includes two 25-MW and two 10-MW plants, Daei said, noting that the four plants will be built and connected to the national electricity network in seven months.
