A mountain is covered with snow at the Sierra de Arteaga, in the Mexican state of Coahuila.

According to local media, the mountains in this area received about 20 inches (1 metre) of snowfall overnight on January 3 with temperatures dipping to between minus 8 degrees Celsius (46.4 degrees Fahrenheit) and minus 12 degrees Celsius (53.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Reuters/Daniel Becerril
