Nikon rolls out new model for fun photography

Manama, February 17, 2014

Nikon Corporation has announced the launch of the D3300, its latest entry-level Nikon DX-format digital SLR camera.

The D3300 offers an effective pixel count of 24.2-million pixels, and is equipped with a Nikon DX-format CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter, the latest Expeed 4 image-processing engine for high-speed processing and superior image quality at high sensitivities, as well as Guide Mode and a variety of special effects that enable easy capture of photos.

With the special effects modes, users can select and apply effects to both still images and movies, said the company in a statement. The preview in the camera monitor before shooting or recording begins, allows users to confirm the results of effect selection in real time.

Image retouch functions also expand user enjoyment with effects that can be applied to images already recorded.

“The launch of the D3300 showcases Nikon’s commitment to all levels of the DSLR market in the Middle East,” remarked Takashi Yoshida, the managing director Nikon MEA.

“The D3300 is the ideal camera for anyone looking to buy their first DSLR, and is equipped with easy guide modes and fun features that allow users to experiment with their creativity,” he noted.

The D3300 comes with a new button that enables quick access to functions for application and adjustment of settings. Additionally, the Guide Mode has been improved, enabling users to capture images as intended by simply following directions displayed in the camera monitor.

Another feature of the camera is its box-type structure made of carbon fiber that was first seen in the D5300, released in November 2013. The smaller size and lighter weight makes the D3300 extremely portable while maintaining a high level of strength and durability.

This camera offers a high level of basic performance with support for continuous shooting at approximately 5 fps, an approximately 0.85× high-magnification viewfinder, and support for recording of 60p full-HD movies that makes capturing moving subjects and decisive moments fun and easy.

The D3300 is available at all major retailers in the UAE at the suggested retail price (SRP) of Dh2,699 ($734.6), said the company statement.

Nikon is also releasing the smaller and lighter zoom lens covering the 18 to 55mm range of focal lengths, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
