Qatari retailer Al Meera said it has completed the refurbishment of the Al Barka mall, its second unit in the Al Bera district of Oman.

Al Meera has turned the facility from a supermarket to a hypermarket with a host of special features including various top fashion brands.

The renovation of the second branch comes as part of Al Meera Oman and Al Meera Company’s strategic plan to boost its presence in the Qatari and regional markets.

After the renovation, Al Barka mall opened this month offering a total store space of 6,000 sq m including new shops and 4,000 sq m for the Hypermarket.

Many fashion brands such as Estilo Clothing Brand, X- Pressions Perfumes and Accessories, are now available for the shoppers, said the Qatari retailer.
 
The renowned shoe brand “Shoe 4 Us”, a branch for Oman Mobile Phone Provider, a pharmacy, a shop exchange and a coffee corner, are coming soon, it added.

The Hypermarket consists of several sections that provide services to consumers, such as an in-house bakery specialized in a variety of Arabic breads Fatayer and Arabic sweets, a butchery that offers a wide range of meat assortment for local community, in addition to a special section for fish, including fresh sea food, with a wide range of assortment sourced from the local market.

The renovated hypermarket includes a revamped fruits and vegetable section, with local and imported varieties, as well as an increased and imported assortment of groceries.

Al Meera currently has five branches in Oman of which two are hypermarkets. Al Barka, the newest branch is located near Al Barka roundabout on Sultan Qaboos highway, linking Muscat to its surroundings in the Sultanate.-TradeArabia News Service
