China Homelife expo records 25pc rise in exhibitors

DUBAI, November 12, 2015

More than 1,100 participants from six core sectors will take part at China Homelife Exhibition 2015, a leading sourcing platform for Chinese products in the Middle East and North Africa region.
 
The sectors on show at the exhibition, which will run from December 8 to 10 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will includ textile and garments, furniture, home electronics, building materials, lighting, and household articles and gifts. 
 
Over the years, Dubai in particular has seen increasing trade being conducted with China with current figures touching $39 billion with expected to reach $40 billion this year, said a statement.
 
Meanwhile, the Middle East has seen increasing trade figures of from $147 billion last year, which is expected to touch $150 billion this year, it said.
 
More than 50,000 products will be showcased, with the the exhibition emerging as one of the largest China sourcing events in the region over the last six years.
 
Binu Pillai, chief operating officer, MEOrient International Exhibition, said: “Strategically located, Dubai has emerged as a trade hub and is also the largest re-export centre in the Middle East. Moreover, the ongoing advancements in infrastructure, logistics and operational costs make the city even more attractive for trade. 
 
"The close ties that Dubai has with China are further strengthened by the China Homelife Exhibition where we make it possible for Middle East and North African organizations to be able to interact with Chinese manufacturers. Our aim is to cover the main sectors for Chinese trade and our concerted efforts over the last year have been instrumental in a 25 per cent increase of exhibitors.”
