Lulu launches British Fest in UAE

ABU DHABI, April 14, 2016

A 10-day Lulu British Fest kicked off in the UAE yesterday (April 13) with the inauguration of the event at the Lulu Hypermarket in Khalidiyah Mall, Abu Dhabi.

British Ambassador to UAE Philip Parham inaugurated the festival in the presence of Saifee Rupawala, CEO of Lulu Group, and other senior government and Lulu officials.

This is the eighth year Lulu is conducting this festival throughout their stores in the UAE.

Rupawala said: "It has been our endeavour always to promote products of various countries in our stores and British products are a favourite among the local as well as the expatriate community here."

Lulu, which has its own sourcing office in the Birmingham in UK, has flown in more than 200 varieties of fresh food, frozen food, confectionary, seafood and meat for this promotion.

Another highlight of this year's event is the launch of two new brands of Britsh products in the UAE by Lulu group  -  Harrogate Water and Oxford. Both these famous brands will be available in all the Lulu stores across the GCC.

The hot food counters of Lulu will sell many dishes exclusively prepared for this festival and there will also be cultural shows during the festival. Shoppers spending Dh50 on British products also have a chance to win a Landrover Discovery SUV during the promotion.

Parham said: "I am very happy to launch this annual event by Lulu and support its endeavour to bring world class British products to the UAE. Each year the product range and the size of the festival is growing and this shows the acceptance of British products by all communities living in the UAE." - TradeArabia News Service
