Carrefour stores top 220 as it marks 22 years

Carrefour, one of the largest hypermarket chains in the world, since its inception in 1995 in the UAE, has grown its presence from one hypermarket in Deira City Centre, Dubai to more than 220 stores across 15 countries.

The brand was launched by Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia and is the exclusive franchisee to operate Carrefour in 38 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

Today, Carrefour employs more than 34,000 people from over 75 nationalities in the region.

Having opened with 20,000 products on its shelves in 1995, the company now offers customers more than 100,000 food and non-food products.

Carrefour’s loyalty programme MyClub boasts more than one million members comprised of more than 160 nationalities.

With the ever-increasing popularity of internet shopping, Carrefour now operates an online store offering more than 19,000 products and a dedicated Carrefour mobile application which helps customers to locate its stores, discover promotions and make online purchases.
