International meetings buyers have ranked Abu Dhabi as delivering the greatest satisfaction of any regional destination in the 2011 Middle East Meetings Industry Research Report.

The finding, which followed canvassing of more than 500 buyers, was revealed at the ongoing fifth Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM).

GIBTM, which opened on March 28 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) will end tomorrow (March 30).

With the UAE heading a ranking of 14 countries, Abu Dhabi then topped the breakdown for the Emirates achieving an excellence rating of 3.47 out of four.

“Abu Dhabi’s developing infrastructure, such as the increased diversity of exhibition space and better balance of hotel star mix, is leading to significant growth across the meetings industry,” said Rob Nicholas, publisher Meetme Magazine, which conducted the research in conjunction with Reed Travel Exhibitions – the GIBTM organiser. – TradeArabia News Service
