Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently signed a strategic partnership with Big Bus Company, aiming to boost tourist bus services in the emirate.

The agreement provides for both parties to develop joint strategies and plans to link the Big Bus service, which is becoming very popular with a large segment of tourists and visitors flocking to Dubai from all parts of the world, with RTA’s marine transit means in order to enhance the tourist transport service in the emirate.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the RTA by Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of Public Transport Agency, and Mike Lees, general manager of Big Bus Company.

"By signing this partnership agreement with the Big Bus Company, the Public Transport Agency is seeking to realize a number of strategic objectives and goals capable of promoting and upgrading tourist transport services, which will bring about economic & social benefits, and promote tourism in the Dubai emirate,” said Dr Al Ali.

“Accordingly, Big Bus Company will direct its customers and tourists coming to Dubai from all parts of the world to use public buses within Dubai emirate to add more fun and comfort to their tourist experience in the emirate."

"Through the Big Bus Company, the Public Transport Agency will offer incoming tourists a chance to experience the riding of public buses, and marine transit modes including Dubai Ferry, Water Bus, and the Water Taxi to enjoy a cruise between the two shores of Dubai Creek,” he added.

“We are delighted to support this strategic initiative from the RTA by participating in shaping the future of Dubai through signing this agreement with the Public Transport Agency. This agreement would avail us an opportunity to contribute effectively to strengthening the mass transport network and tourist transport, besides leveraging the standing of Dubai in the region and the world over,” said Lees.

“Big Bus Company will play a vital role in achieving this common objective by promoting the public bus service as well as all other mass transport services such as the metro, buses, Water Bus, and the Water Taxi among the Company’s customers, tourists and visitors.

“The company will promote these means by distributing publications and leaflets using pre-agreed fare between the parties,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
