Sabre inks deal with Indian travel agency

Bahrain-based Sabre Travel Network Middle East has signed an agreement with Akbar Travel, a leading travel agency in India.
 
Under the agreement, Akbar Travel will be implementing Sabre’s key technology including online booking engine, real-time data analysis tools that provide rich insights into corporate contracts, tools that automate ticketing, refunds and exchanges, and mid-office solutions in its Middle East business.

Sabre will also provide hands-on training for the team at Akbar Travel to help them become proficient in their day-to-day operations of Sabre’s technology.

On the agreement, Sabre CEO Daniel Naoumovitch said: "We are delighted they have chosen Sabre as their technology partner for the Middle East region and hope this collaboration helps Akbar Travel expand and attain their business goals for this region."

Akbar Travel chairman & managing director Abdul Nazar said: "The Middle East is a key market for us and hence partnering with a leading global travel technology provider like Sabre, implementing its world class technology translates into better efficiency for our business here."
