Ajman tourism’s Q2 revenue grows

MOSCOW, September 18, 2014

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) has revealed that revenues of its tourism sector during the second quarter of this year were estimated at Dh67 million ($18.24 million), compared to Dh42 million ($11.43 million) during the same period last year.

Hotel occupancy for Q2 reached 65 per cent, compared to 58 per cent in the same period in 2013, Hind Al Marzooqi, head of ATDD marketing and promotion section, said.

The number of guests reached 180,000 with a total of 182,000 guest nights during Q2, compared to 120,000 guests and 128,000 nights during the same period last year, she said.

Europeans came first on the list of visitors to Ajman, followed by Russians and CIS market citizens, then GCC and Arab nationalities.

The number of hotel establishments reached 31, compared to 29 in 2013, Al Marzooqi said, noting that the number of hotel beds increased to 4660 from 2922. – TradeArabia News Service
