Marriott Executive Apartments Manama and Residence Inn by Marriott Manama Juffair recognised and appreciated housekeepers in the hotel industry.

The Housekeepers Appreciation Week 2014 was part of Marriott International’s ‘The International Housekeepers Week.’

More than 4,000 Marriott properties around the world are using the week as another opportunity to recognise its housekeeping associates and thank them for the critical role they play in making business successful, said a statement.

The seven-day event was filled in Bahrain included various fun activities, such as opening ceremony breakfast, giveaways surprise, ladies scarf workshop, fingerprint board, manager’s bed making challenge, public exhibition and closing ceremony on rooftop.

Public exhibition made of housekeeping items, collaterals for both brands, Marriott Executive Apartments and Residence Inn by Marriott and “How to clean a guest room” video was held at Residence Inn by Marriott Manama Juffair during three days, so in-house guests could come visit and leave comments.

Michel Sursock, general manager Marriott Executive Apartments Manama, said that housekeeping department is the backbone and vital organ in the hospitality industry. It has essential roles in achieving and maintaining guest satisfaction.

"Understanding this crucial function, we constantly recognise our housekeeping professionals with the highest appreciation. This week is dedicated to our housekeeping, cleaning and laundry associates thank to them for their great job to ensure our guests and residents experience a wonderful stay," he said.
