Royal Jordanian...first group of 787 order completed
RJ gets fifth Dreamliner
AMMAN, November 24, 2014
Royal Jordanian, the flag carrier of Jordan, has welcomed its fifth 787 aircraft, thus completing the assimilation of the first group of its 787 Dreamliner order.
Royal Jordanian’s acting president/CEO Captain Haitham Misto said the newly acquired jets are a new, advanced generation of the 787. The five new airliners have been deployed on RJ’s medium- and long-range routes, replacing the four Airbus 340s and one Airbus 330.
Misto said the airline will continue receiving the rest of the ordered Dreamliners starting from 2016 and throughout the following few years. “This milestone will help RJ meet its operational needs and leverage the passengers’ experience, particularly when they fly on long-haul flights.” The state-of-the-art features and high specifications of the 787s are bound to offer higher levels of comfort and luxury, he stated.
The new planes also enable airlines to increase their cargo revenues by providing about 20 per cent to 30 per cent more cargo capacity than the current airplanes of the same size, he added.– TradeArabia News Service
