Hassan receives the award at the WTA

Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana wins top accolade

MAKKAH, December 1, 2014

Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana, a luxury hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, was voted “Makkah’s Leading Hotel” at the Middle East Gala Ceremony - World Travel Awards (WTA) held at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, UAE.

The hotel enjoyed 95 per cent occupancy during this year’s Haj season, even though the number of pilgrims issued visas was greatly reduced because of ongoing renovation and Haram expansion.  This year the total number of pilgrims was 1,389,053 consisting of 163 nationalities from all over the world.

Serving the ever-growing religious travel market, Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana is a competitively priced and conveniently located property offering stunning views of Al Haram Al Shareef and Al Kaaba. Guests can choose from more than 483 newly renovated deluxe rooms and suites. The hotel also offers a variety of traditional international fine dining opportunities at its three signature restaurants: Al Bayt, Al Dayfa and Al Shorfa.

“We are both thrilled and deeply honoured to have been named Makkah’s Leading Hotel by the travel industry’s most prestigious trade organisation,” said Mohamad Haj Hassan, area vice president of Rotana in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, Iraq and Bahrain.

“I would like to thank all the pilgrims and travellers who have visited the hotel and voted for us. I also thank the hotel’s hard-working colleagues for making Al Marwa by Rotana the hotel of choice for pilgrims travelling to Makkah. I can guarantee you that everyone at Al Marwa Rayhaan will continue to work hard to maintain the high standards that have resulted in this award,” he added.

Established in 1993, the WTA honours excellence in the travel and tourism industry, both regionally and globally. The organisation is recognised worldwide as a respected proponent of excellence in the industry. – TradeArabia News Service
