Mobility 'key to hotel competitiveness'

MANAMA, December 3, 2014

Mobility is the cornerstone for tech-savvy hotels, according to Movenpick Hotel and Resorts' vice-president of technology Middle East and Asia Roger MacFarlane.

“Guests look for immediacy and efficiency in hotel service and if you can't give it to them, you will lose out,” MacFarlane told the GDN on the sidelines of Movenpick Hotel Middle East and Asia Annual Regional IT Conference held in Bahrain.

Top leaders from the group attended the two-day conference, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

This year's annual conference discussed the history of IT in the hospitality industry, its current standing and what future, cutting-edge expertise can do to enhance guests' experience while they travel, stay and pass through hotels.

“It's a time of year when all IT officials in the Middle East get together to learn about corporate IT updates and strategy, share best practices and take away valuable information/learnings that they can apply in their hotels to directly benefit our guests and hotel operations,” MacFarlane added. - TradeArabia News Service
