Jumeirah plans Mumbai property

NEW DELHI, April 13, 2015

Jumeirah Group, a Dubai-based luxury hospitality company, plans open a property in India's commercial capital Mumbai by 2019, a report said.

The group has already signed a management contract and the property will be under the Jumeirah brand, said its president and chief executive officer Gerald Lawless in an Economic Times report.

The company is also in talks with for the development of a property in Goa, he said.

Lawless also said the group will also introduce its second brand 'Venu' in India and locations such as Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi and Noida are being considered.

"Our vision is to have 75 Jumeirah properties and 25 Venu properties worldwide by 2023," he was quoted as saying in the report.
