Deepak Manocha has joined the Marriott & Marriott Executive Apartments Al Jaddaf Dubai as its new general manager.

Over the past two years Manocha was the general manager at the Marriott Harbour Suites, responsible for overseeing the hotel operations, including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation, marketing efforts and overall performance and strategy execution of the hotel. During his tenure, he led the team in delivering excellent results across all areas of the balanced scorecard, picking up a number of awards in the process. Among few achievements were repositioning for three food and beverage outlets for the Hotel – Croft, Counter Culture Café and The Observatory.

Commenting on his new role, Manocha said: “Coming on board as the general manager of Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Al Jaddaf Dubai marks yet another milestone for me in my long career with Marriott International. It’s great to be a part of the company’s flagship brand that inspires people to travel brilliantly, listening to its customers and innovating along the way.” A man of many talents, Manocha is a trained glider pilot, has completed two marathons during his time in Dubai and currently pursuing education from Harvard Business School.

He joined Marriott in 2001 as front office manager at the JW Marriott Mumbai. A promotion to director of rooms soon followed and then a move to the Goa Marriott Resort as director of operations in 2007. After success in these key operational management positions, Deepak achieved his first general manager appointment at the pre-opening of Courtyard by Marriott, Pune Hinjewadi in August 2008. In 2010 Manocha was appointed as the pre-opening general manager at the JW Marriott Chandigarh. The hotel actually opened in June 2011 and, despite an economic downturn in the region, under Manocha's leadership this luxury hotel quickly achieved a number 1 ranking for RevPAR index and financial breakeven soon.  

His focus at Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf will be building awareness about the hotel in the market for the rooms, catering and Spa, and build up on the hotel strength and its expansive food and beverage options. - TradeArabia News Service
