Abu Dhabi hotels post demand, rates increase in Oct

ABU DHABI, November 12, 2017

Hotels in Abu Dhabi, UAE,  experienced strong demand in October this year, resulting in an increase of 12.7 per cent in occupation compared to the same period last year, an STR report said.

Supply during the month was up 0.5 per cent, while demand grew 13.2 per cent. The occupancy in Abu Dhabi hotels reached 80.9 per cent in the month, said STR’s preliminary report for the month said.

The average daily rate (ADR) went up 2.3 per cent to Dh465.58 and revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased 15.3 per cent to Dh376.88.

STR analysts point out that significant demand growth was helped by the World Skills competition, which was held from October 15 to 18. Occupancy was above 90 per cent three times during the event, while ADR was more than Dh500 each night.
