MUMBAI, December 26, 2018

The Travel Corporation (TTC) has unveiled plans to expand its sales network to the Middle East. As part of its regional growth strategy, TTC has promoted Darshan Maheshwari, country manager for TTC India, to a dual leadership role that will see him helm TTC Middle East.

TTC owns 29 award-winning brands including Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Contiki Holidays, Costsaver, AAT Kings, Thompsons Africa and its luxury brands Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Luxury Gold, Inspiring journeys and Red Carnation Hotels, a collection of 17 luxury boutique hotels in London, Dorset, Guernsey, Geneva, Florida & South Africa.

The family-owned organisation, now in its fourth generation, offers over 1,000 trips spanning 60 countries, with a range of travel styles that appeal to travellers of all ages. TTC holidays are designed to create enriching experiences for travellers by combining an unbeatable mix of exceptional service and quality at great value.

“TTC already has a strong presence in India where Darshan has played an instrumental role in accelerating this growth. His promotion is testament to TTC’s philosophy to promote and nurture talent from within the organisation. We are confident that Darshan will be able to unlock the full potential of our business in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, countries where travellers are actively seeking holidays that can offer them something special, particularly well-curated experiences that are seamlessly organised to help them fulfil their holiday dream,” said Nicholas Lim, managing director, The Travel Corporation, Asia.

With over 22 years of experience in the travel industry, Maheshwari has a diverse and deep background for both leisure and business travel. As he steps into his new role as country manager of TTC, India and Middle East with immediate effect, Maheshwari will leverage on the synergies that exist for both the India and Middle East travel industry to expand TTC’s regional footprint and will actively engage agent partners in training and sales-driven events. He will also help introduce TTC’s innovative solutions for travel agents, including TTC Agent Academy, a singular platform created to offer an eLearning platform for agents to build their knowledge for TTC’s core brands with the goal of helping agent partners learn about the scope of solutions available to meet their customers travel needs.

Maheshwari will be based in Mumbai, India and will continue to report to Lim.

Commenting on his promotion, Maheshwari said: “I love the fact that TTC has so many brands that are so diverse with massive offerings and are so consumer-centric. Our travel brands have been well-received by both travellers and our agent partners, and I look forward to working to building our business in the region and helping our partners grow. It will be exciting times ahead.” - TradeArabia News Service
