Europe's first LXR Hotels property opens in London

LONDON, September 24, 2019

The Biltmore Mayfair has opened its doors as Europe’s first LXR Hotels & Resorts property - Hilton’s collection of luxury hotels.

The brand made its world debut in Dubai last year, with the opening of Habtoor Palace Dubai, LXR Hotels & Resorts as the first hotel in the luxury collection.
The 307-room hotel combines exquisite contemporary accommodation, stunning views across the gardens of Grosvenor Square, and innovative culinary concepts by Michelin Star restaurateur, Jason Atherton, creating the ultimate urban sanctuary in the heart of Mayfair.

Almost 400,000 travellers from the UAE visited Britain in 2018 - and Mayfair, a cosmopolitan area of London with residents from more than 40 countries, is the ideal area for guests to stay whilst visiting the city. With a host of iconic landmarks and neighbourhoods on its doorstep, including the high-end retailer Selfridges nearby, travellers from the UAE can enjoy London’s most prime location whilst staying at the hotel.

A new jewel in the prestigious neighbourhood, the hotel unites 20th century grandeur with modern architectural details. Guests looking for an elegant escape can book into one of the 51 beautifully designed suites where they will be welcomed with personalised embroidered pillowcases, monogrammed bathrobes and quintessentially British amenities by Penhaligon’s. Even the hotel’s youngest residents will feel perfectly pampered in the signature suites with their own bathrobes, coloured toothbrushes and access to a complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar throughout their stay.

The Biltmore Mayfair is also home to the capital’s hottest new restaurant concepts from world-renowned restaurateur Jason Atherton:
• The Betterment features a seasonally driven menu, from locally-sourced fish and meats that are wood-fired, to signature salads and plant-based dishes.
• The Pine Bar operates as a sophisticated bar with classic drinks and delicious snacks, including home-cured charcuterie.
• The Tea Lounge, located within the hotel lobby, is ideal to enjoy one of London’s finest afternoon teas, and indulge in a selection of homemade sandwiches. Guests can also enjoy sweet delicacies including a Dorset spice apple cake and lemon and lavender macarons, in the Writer’s Corner.
• Finally, within the heart of the hotel is The Terrace. Open all year round, the relaxed, alfresco area is surrounded by stunning floral arrangements, sweeping greenery and glimmering fairy lights, making it the perfect spot to drink and dine under the stars.

“We are delighted to be opening The Biltmore Mayfair, Europe’s first LXR Hotels & Resorts property, on London’s prestigious Grosvenor Square,” said Simon Vincent, president, EMEA, Hilton. “Bringing contemporary luxury to Mayfair, guests will experience outstanding hospitality, including dining by Chef Jason Atherton, in remarkable surroundings that truly capture the spirit of London and British luxury.”

Jason Atherton will oversee food and beverage for the hotel’s extensive event spaces, including the impressive 500-sq-m ballroom, ideal for large-scale events, weddings or cocktail receptions, with capacity for up to 700 guests. For more intimate functions, the Waterloo and Manhattan Suites can hold up to 100 guests, while the Kendal Suite lends itself perfectly to up to 25 guests. The hotel also boasts a state-of-the-art gymtech suite.

“The exceptional, singular service that is consistent across all LXR Hotels & Resorts, paired with the personalized attention offered by The Biltmore Mayfair is truly unparalleled,” said Feisal Jaffer, global head, LXR Hotels & Resorts. “We look forward to creating a distinctive sanctuary from where our guests can experience the best of London.”
