Bahrain showcasing tourism, exhibition strengths at IBTM

Bahrain is showcasing its tourism offerings and exhibition and conference industry capabilities at Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings (IBTM) currently underway (November 28-30) in Barcelona, Spain.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is participating in the event in collaboration with seven exhibition and conference institutions in the kingdom, including the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, Gulf Hotels Group, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, and Visit Bahrain.

Dr Nasser Ali Qaidi, CEO of the BTEA, said that the "IBTM World" exhibition serves as a strategic platform for Bahrain to establish business and partnerships with European and global markets, and to facilitate the exchange of experiences and establishing direct links with relevant parties.

Bahrain is attracting visitors for entertainment, business tourism, and exhibitions and conferences through Bahrain International Exhibition Center and numerous international hotels, he said.

The kingdom aims to attract better business opportunities by utilising diverse tourist attractions and projects, he added.

The 100-sqm Bahraini Pavilion, highlighting the country’s market advantages as a preferred business event destination, provided participants with an introduction to the various tourist attractions, major projects, attractive tourism packages, and new investments that aim to boost the growing tourism sector.

BTEA collaborated with destination management companies, hotel institutions, and partners to create travel packages for tourists with innovative services and a comprehensive marketing plan.

Bahrain plans to host its eighth edition of the Bahrain Food Festival 2024, offering a variety of culinary delights, entertainment, live music concerts, and family-friendly activities.

The kingdom will host the DB World Golf Tour for the first time in 13 years in February 2024, highlighting sports tourism and celebrating. This is in addition to the 20th anniversary of hosting the first Formula 1 race at the Bahrain International Circuit, marking a significant milestone in motorsports history.

BTEA collaborated with Al Dana Theater to launch a comprehensive plan for Bahrain's live entertainment industry, that includes concerts and events to advance the sector.

Next year, the Bahrain International Air Show will celebrate its tenth anniversary, featuring over 180 companies, 160 delegations, and 100 aircraft from 30 countries. – TradeArabia News Service
