New GM for Honeywell Building Solutions in Qatar
Fraiwat ... new role.

Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) has appointed Youssef Fraiwat as its general manager for Qatar.

Fraiwat will be based in Doha and will concentrate on working closely with customers and end-users, enabling stakeholders to have direct access to Honeywell’s wide-range of solutions, global expertise and talent, a company statement said.

“Youssef is an accomplished leader who will add depth and expertise to our regional leadership team,” said Norm Gilsdorf, president and CEO for Honeywell Russia, Central Asia and Middle East. “He has built a track record of driving a ‘customer-first’ mindset across our Middle East operations.  His work experience and extensive knowledge of the Qatar market will be a great asset as we continue to expand our presence in the country.”

Today, Qatar is experiencing significant economic diversification outside the traditional hydrocarbon industries and into other high growth opportunities, such as critical infrastructure development and protection, smart cities and transportation. For more than 40 years, Honeywell has provided technology solutions that have increased safety, efficiency and productivity across Qatar, and is supporting the development of several of the country’s hospitals, airports, hotels and education facilities, it said.

Born and raised in the region, Fraiwat has more than a decade’s experience of working with government ministries as well as national and international oil companies across the Middle East. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Fraiwat started his career working as a project engineer for Schlumberger and then moved to consulting when he joined Booz & Company in 2008. He joined Honeywell Middle East in 2013, serving as director of strategic marketing and business development.
