EmiratesGBC (Emirates Green Building Council) said it will launch a guide for retrofitting existing buildings in line with the UAE's sustainability agenda at an event on Tuesday (June 16) in Dubai.

‘Technical Guidelines for Retrofitting Existing Buildings’ is a set of instructions and best practices for retrofitting existing buildings that aims to highlight current processes, technologies, and local and regional standards in place to successfully and efficiently retrofit existing buildings in the country, said EmiratesGBC.

The guidelines conform with the UAE’s sustainability agenda, as part of its National Agenda 2021 and in line with local sustainable strategies such as the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy and Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.

The guide has been created with the support of the Ministry of Public Works and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, said EmiratesGBC, an organisation set up with the goal of advancing green building principles in the emirates.

Representatives of government authorities and key industry stakeholders will be present at the event to be held in Conrad Hotel, Dubai.

Technical Guidelines for Retrofitting Existing Buildings have been written by volunteer EmiratesGBC members and partners who have strong expertise and technical knowledge in their respective fields, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
