Abu Dhabi in key residential city infrastructure upgrade

Abu Dhabi City Municipality has started the installation of lamp posts in Mohammed Bin Zayed City and aims to complete its target of 4,366 units by the end of next year, said a report.

This project is part of the overall objectives of both the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport at the Abu Dhabi City Municipality. It testifies the Abu Dhabi municipality's keenness to provide the best infrastructure services, according to state news agency Wam.

The move is part of the comprehensive development drive witnessed by Mohammed Bin Zayed City, and fulfills the community needs in the light of the rising demographic, business and residential growth, it stated.

The project includes lighting streets of the Mohammed Bin Zayed City including all residential sectors at a total cost of Dh76.4 million ($21 million). It also includes supplying and installing lampposts, LED light fixtures for 4,366 lamp posts along with their concrete bases.

The Mohammed Bin Zayed City is one of the modern, and promising cities that witnesses continuous growth at the present with great potentials for the future, said the report.

Spread over an area of 49.3 sq km with more than 125,324 people, the development is expected to accommodate 215,000 inhabitants when all districts of the city get occupied, it added.
