Gradiant Corporation, a leader in innovative solutions for desalination and industrial wastewater treatment with a major presence in the Middle East, has announced that it has secured 12 new projects worth across Asia Pacific during the first half of 2020.
This represents a multi-fold year-on-year growth in the region, boosting Gradiant’s ability to capitalise on Asia Pacific’s water market, worth $5 billion, according to data from Global Water Intelligence (GWI).
Gradiant, which has its regional unit in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, said these projects range from the production of domestic water from rivers to treatment of high-contamination industrial effluent for reuse, including Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) applications.
Delivered under a Build-Own-Operate service approach and equipment sale business model, the 12 projects have a combined value of over $250 million and are forecasted to deliver annual revenues of approximately $25 million.
These projects address complex water challenges in textiles, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, power, FMCG, chemicals and water supply, it added.
Unveiling its Asia Pacific growth plans, COO and co-founder Prakash Govindan said: "The robust growth that Gradiant has secured across key markets in Asia Pacific is a testament to the increasing demand and recognition of the economic and socioeconomic value that water treatment technologies can generate."
"These project wins spearhead an exciting growth phase for Gradiant in Asia, echoing our commitment to better serve our customers as we cement ourselves as a leader in the region’s water treatment landscape," he added.
To meet the region’s growing demand for desalination and water filtration technologies, Gradiant has consolidated its membrane innovations into an integrated technology suite, RO Infinity (ROi).
Solutions under the ROi brand comprise Gradiant’s patented Counterflow Reserve Osmosis (CFRO) process as well as advanced Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Forward Osmosis (FO) techniques designed to overcome barriers that limit traditional desalination methods. The ROi solution suite opens an incremental addressable market of $500 million for the company.
"We are very excited to launch the ROi suite, that provides customers with more clean water, less waste, optimal energy efficiency, and guaranteed reliability," said Rick Stover, Vice President of Technology.
"The combination of product R&D advances, best available technologies, and our culture of innovation is enabling Gradiant to tackle some of the world’s toughest water treatment challenges," he added.
With over 125 people throughout APAC and cutting-edge testing and R&D labs in Singapore, Chennai (India), Shanghai (China) and Boston (US), Gradiant is firming up its position as a global leader in technology driven desalination and water treatment.-TradeArabia News Service
