The international airline association Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG) welcomed the Turkish carrier AJet as a new member in its community.
AJet is the country’s youngest low-cost airline and a rapidly growing
subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, connecting Europe, the Middle East, North
Africa, and Central Asia with major cities and holiday regions in Türkiye.
AJet operates in 34 countries and flies to
59 international destinations in addition to more than 40 destinations within
its domestic Turkish route network.
In Germany, AJet currently serves eight
airports.
“AJet is a dynamically developing company
that focuses on modern, low-emission, fuel-efficient aircraft in addition to
targeted route planning,” says Michael Hoppe, BARIG Chairman and Executive
Director. “We are delighted to welcome this new airline to our BARIG network.“
AJet currently operates a fleet of
approximately 90 aircraft, including Airbus A320neo, A321neo, Boeing 737-800,
and 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Within the next ten years, the fleet is
expected to more than double to 200 aircraft; according to current plans, AJet
will then serve over 50 countries.
“Germany is one of AJet’s key markets,”
emphasises Kerem Sarp, AJet CEO. “At a time of significant change in the
aviation industry, constructive dialogue and effective representation are
essential. BARIG provides an important platform for engagement with industry
stakeholders and partners. Our membership supports AJet’s strategic growth
objectives as we continue to expand our modern, efficient fleet and
international network.” -TradeArabia News Service
