Omran re-launches tender for Ras Al Shajar main construction package

Omran Group, the Oman Tourism Development Company responsible for major national tourism infrastructure, has issued an invitation to experienced contractors to participate in the re-tender for detailed design and construction of the Ras Al Shajar Main Construction Package.

The move is part of a broader push to advance sustainable eco-tourism developments across the sultanate.

The tender (No. 49/2025) was published on February 8 on Omran's supplier gateway. Interested companies now have until March 14, 2026 to submit their bids through the Omran's online portal.

Omran said the re-tender follows an earlier procurement phase and aims to secure qualified firms with proven experience in detailed design and construction of complex tourism-related infrastructure.

The successful bidder will be responsible for delivering end-to-end services, including technical design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and final handover in full compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Ras Al Shajar Project

The Ras Al Shajar Nature Reserve project is a flagship initiative in Omran's expanding eco-tourism portfolio. Located in the Quriyat region of northern Oman, Ras Al Shajar encompasses a unique blend of mountain and coastal ecosystems. The project aims to create a nature adventure park that balances environmental conservation with immersive visitor experiences.

According to the official project outline, key elements of the development are expected to include:

* A 41-metre observation Sky Tower offering panoramic wildlife views.

* An indoor nature experience centre with interactive exhibits promoting local flora and fauna.

* Eco-friendly hospitality and support facilities.

* Guided 4×4 tours, electric self-drive vehicles, and extensive hiking and biking trails.

As a major eco-tourism destination, Ras Al Shajar is designed to support a wide range of revenue-generating activities in addition to enriching Oman’s tourism landscape with year-round natural attractions. - TradeArabia News Service
