The “Abha Walk” project on King Fahd Road in Abha, a key urban development supporting economic activity and tourism in Aseer Region, is progressing through construction phases.
The project aims to enhance quality of life through an integrated design that includes sports tracks, pedestrian walkways, green spaces, and recreational facilities, along with areas for commercial activities and cafés, said a Saudi Press Agency report.
With an investment exceeding SAR90 million ($24 million), the project supports infrastructure development and contributes to diversifying the local economy.
It consists of six multi-use levels, with lower floors allocated for commercial activities and upper levels designated for administrative offices.
The project is implemented under the patronage of Governor of Aseer Region and Chairman of its Development Authority Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz.
A partnership with the Aseer Development Authority supports implementation and ensures alignment with development objectives.
he project falls within the Aseer Development Strategy, which aims to increase the region’s contribution to GDP by approximately SAR26 billion by 2030, creating nearly 94,000 job opportunities, and attracting more than nine million visitors annually.
It also aligns with Aseer’s ascent initiative to position the region as a global tourist destination.
Upon completion, the project is expected to stimulate investment, support small and medium enterprises, and enhance quality of life.
