Ahead of its UAE debut, Six Senses The Palm, Dubai is integrating sustainability across its design, operations and guest experiences.
The beachfront resort will feature an Earth Lab, a dedicated
learning space offering workshops on recycling, upcycling, waste reduction and
environmental awareness for guests, residents and children.
The resort is also introducing Crafted Experiences, allowing
visitors to engage with Emirati culture through locally inspired activities.
It has applied for LEED Silver certification and
incorporates energy-efficient district cooling, solar-assisted hot water
systems, greywater recycling, green roofs and drought-tolerant landscaping to
reduce environmental impact.
Responsible sourcing includes FSC-certified timber and
regionally produced furnishings, while operations will follow a zero single-use
plastic policy supported by waste segregation and composting systems.
The resort will allocate 0.5% of its revenue to a
Sustainability Fund supporting local environmental and community projects.
Sustainability initiatives will be overseen by Director of
Sustainability Dominic Paul Dubois, who joins the property ahead of its opening
with experience from Six Senses Crans-Montana. -TradeArabia News Service
