Rural farms in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Baha Region have become a growing summer tourism attraction, drawing visitors seeking relaxation, nature and authentic countryside experiences.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in
Al-Baha said the sector has recently undergone a notable transformation,
helping position rural farms as part of the region’s tourism offering.
Director General Fahd Al-Zahrani highlighted the ministry’s
role in supporting and regulating these farms, which combine agricultural
activity with tourism services.
The initiative has contributed to turning Al-Baha’s
countryside into a popular destination known for its calm environment and
terraced green landscapes.
Currently, 30 rural farms are officially licensed in the
region, with licensing procedures underway for an additional 35.
Authorities aim to reach around 65 licensed farms across
Al-Baha’s governorates as part of a broader development plan.
These farms offer traditional rural hospitality alongside
recreational experiences, blending agriculture with tourism.
Officials say the initiative supports sustainable rural
development while enhancing the region’s appeal as a nature-based tourism
destination in Saudi Arabia. -TradeArabia News Service
