Jeddah Airports Company’s Terminal 1 at King Abdulaziz International Airport has received LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), in recognition of its commitment to applying the highest sustainability standards in the design and operation of its facilities.
Spanning 810,000 sq m, Terminal 1 is the largest
single building in Saudi Arabia to achieve the certification, said the company in a statement.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is awarded by USGBC after assessing buildings on energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor environmental quality and responsible resource management standards.

improve facility efficiency and integrate sustainability, innovation and
operational excellence into airport development, it .
The company said the achievement supports the airport’s role
as a leading gateway to Saudi Arabia and contributes to the aviation sector’s
