Dubai Mallathon’s first edition at Dubai International (DXB) concluded with 2,900 participants across four events at Terminal 3, bringing together airport employees, passengers and the public to promote fitness, wellbeing and community connection.
As the first non-mall venue for the citywide initiative, DXB hosted weekly indoor walking and running routes throughout August.
Participation grew from 604 guests on 7 August to 1,001 at the final session on 4 September, which marked a special Emirati Women’s Day edition celebrating Emirati women’s contributions to Dubai Airports and the aviation sector.
The programme also engaged People of Determination, senior citizens, youth, running groups and oneDXB partners.
Majed Al
Joker, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Airports said: “The final event was a
fitting conclusion to an initiative defined by the breadth of participation.
Members of the public, Colleagues, airport partners, passengers and members of
the wider oneDXB community all took part, showing how opportunities to stay
active can be integrated naturally into both the working day and the guest
experience. As the first non-mall venue to host the Dubai Mallathon, we are proud
to have supported the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 by creating an
inclusive way for people to move and connect.” -TradeArabia News Service
