Dubai has reinforced its position as a leading global superyacht destination through its participation in the UAE Pavilion at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, held from September 23–26.
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) used the event to showcase the emirate’s expanding yachting ecosystem to international and regional yacht owners, captains, brokers, charter companies, investors, family offices and luxury-sector stakeholders.
The programme highlighted Dubai’s growing role in developing
a more connected yachting proposition across the UAE.
Dubai’s offering spans premium marina infrastructure, yacht management, charter, brokerage, provisioning, shipbuilding, luxury services and investment.
The emirate is supported by 22 marinas and streamlined arrival procedures that allow superyachts to complete entry requirements at their marina.
Foreign visiting vessels can remain in Dubai waters for up
to six months, while eligible foreign-flagged vessels operating under a visa
permit can benefit from VAT and customs duty exemptions.
The city’s participation also highlighted the newly formed
UAE Yachting Alliance, announced by authorities from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras
Al Khaimah during the show.
The alliance aims to support integrated itineraries, joint
international promotion and greater coordination across the UAE’s marine
tourism sector.
DET held a series of engagements with international yachting
and luxury-sector stakeholders. These included a luxury fashion presentation by
Dubai-based Carter & White in collaboration with Sunreef Yachts, as well as
a reception with Stephenson Harwood LLP focused on Dubai’s appeal to private
wealth, international investment and luxury asset stakeholders.
In partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism –
Abu Dhabi (DCT), DET also hosted a session for leading yacht brokers and
charter companies examining opportunities to create multi-destination UAE
itineraries.
The session highlighted Dubai’s role as a gateway and anchor
destination, supported by efficient permitting processes and ease of movement
between emirates.
The discussions also focused on Dubai’s hospitality, dining,
retail, cultural, entertainment and events offering, which can support longer
and more diverse itineraries for yacht owners and charter guests.
Dubai’s broader maritime ecosystem includes companies
involved in yacht management, charter, sales, marina operations, provisioning,
construction and engineering.
Stakeholders such as Phoenix Yacht Management, JLS Yachts,
D-Marin, Magnitude, MY OCEAN, Dubai Harbour, AAA Marine, EMS and Grandweld
Shipyards contribute to services covering the superyacht journey from
acquisition and ownership through arrival, operation, servicing and
construction.
Saud Almheiri, Cruise Tourism & Yachting Lead at
the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), said: “The Monaco Yacht Show
provided an important platform for Dubai to engage directly with the global
yachting community and demonstrate how our destination proposition is evolving.
Dubai delivers much more than an exceptional place to berth, combining advanced
infrastructure, luxury lifestyle offerings, and a growing network of maritime
expertise and services, while providing seamless access to the wider UAE.
Through close collaboration with our public and private sector partners, and as
the UAE’s yachting proposition becomes increasingly connected, our ambition is
to make Dubai the gateway through which the global yachting community and their
guests can discover more of the country and the region.”
DET said Dubai’s combination of maritime infrastructure,
luxury experiences and global connectivity strengthens its appeal as a base for
high-value travellers.
The Monaco Yacht Show participation supports the emirate’s
ambition to expand its role as a global yachting hub while positioning the UAE
as an integrated, multi-destination cruising market. -TradeArabia News Service
